But Samuel replied, "What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Just because we've always done it doesn't make it right. Sometimes we get too caught up in tradition. We do things and we can't explain why. Don't take Gods commands for granted. He commands us out of love. We should be aware of why we are doing something that is for him. Take time this next year to remind yourself of why your preforming certain ceremonies and taking part in certain celebrations. Fill your life with purpose rather than meaningless motions.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the safety you've provided for me and my family. For the care you've put into our every day. I pray for safe travels for all my love ones in this December. Amen
